The Sayang Sayang Fund, a Community Impact Fund started by the Community Foundation of Singapore, provides support for frontline healthcare and ancillary workers, as well as the vulnerable communities such as seniors and families who are impacted by the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak and heightened precautionary measures.
The name Sayang Sayang is chosen because it is a local colloquial term that most people are familiar with. It is in line with the idea of showing love and appreciation to healthcare professionals who work hard to care for us, to safeguard our health and to heal the fallen. It also conveys gratitude to those who are stepping up to ensure key services continue in the community.
Members of the public who wish to support the Fund, please visit giving.sg or contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org. Every donation will go towards helping our healthcare professionals get transport back home safely and swiftly for a much needed rest; and ensuring that those in disadvantaged situations are still able to get the aid they need.
Grant application for Sayang Sayang Fund is now open. Interested parties are invited to apply for funding to defray the costs incurred by community partners in ensuring the well-being of their clients through (1) enhanced preventive solution; and (2) implementation of work-around measures to continue support for vulnerable communities such as seniors and families during this period.
Assessment of application will be based on charity and project merit, assessed qualifying cost, as well as ability to meet the fund’s objectives in supporting healthcare professionals and the vulnerable communities during the coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak.
