The LIFT (Learning Initiatives for Employment) Community Impact Fund supports programmes that provide vocational training and social support for marginalised groups in Singapore before placing them in jobs in the open market.
The programmes are targeted at four marginalised groups – persons with disabilities, persons recovering from mental illnesses, disadvantaged women and youth-at-risk. Its purpose is to help them secure sustained employment in the food and beverage industry in Singapore by equipping them with hard and soft skills, socio-emotional support and job coaching.
The fund aims to support an initial 90 participants with vocational training, job matching, job placement and ongoing social support provided by two social enterprises – Project Dignity will train participants for kitchen and service jobs while Bettr Barista will train participants to be baristas. Both social enterprises will offer job attachment opportunities during the training phase.
By providing holistic support, LIFT hopes to help participants get and stay employed with the help of the community.
